Daily Step Goal
What Cosy, Explorer and Go-getter mean, and how the goal sets your pet's mood.
| Goal | Steps a day |
|---|---|
| Cosy | 4,000 |
| Explorer | 6,000 (where everyone starts) |
| Go-getter | 10,000 |
| My own | Any number from 2,000 to 20,000, in steps of 500 |
What the goal changes
The goal is how many steps count as a full day for your pet. Your pet's mood follows how far along you are: past your goal and it's ecstatic, around 80% of the way it's happy, and it gets more tired the further you are from it.
Say you walk 3,400 steps. On Cosy that's 85% of your goal, and your pet is happy. On Go-getter it's 34%, and your pet is tired. Same walk, different goal.
Your Move ring counts too
Steps aren't the only way in. Your pet also looks at your Apple Watch Move ring and uses whichever is further along. That makes the Move ring great for days you don't walk around much but still exercise hard: a bike ride, a swim, a gym session or a yoga class fills the ring, and your pet is just as happy as after a long walk. A raised heart rate gives the score a boost. The Move goal itself lives in the Fitness app, not in WatchieBesti.
Which one to pick
Pick the goal you can reach on a normal day, not your best day. A pet that's happy most days is more fun to come back to than one that's always tired. Cosy suits younger kids, recovery weeks and desk-heavy days. Go-getter suits people who already walk a lot. If none fits, My own lets you set the exact number.
Changing your goal
On your watch, open Settings, then Goals, then Daily goal. You can also change it in the iPhone app, and the two stay in sync. Today's mood updates straight away. Earlier days keep the goal they were scored with, and nothing about your pet resets.
